Y3 Week 39: Final Day of High School - Last School Bus Ride

Is this the little boy at play?

I don't remember growing older,
When did they?
When did he grow to be so tall?
Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?

Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days.
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers,
Blossoming even as we gaze.

Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years,
One season following another,
Laiden with happiness and tears.

-Fiddler on the Roof

Y3 Week 36: Hair Band

"A lot of rock bands are truly a legend in their own minds."
-David Lee Roth

"My hair is the reason we started the band, cause I couldn't sing, and they were like, well just look at his hair, and I was like, fine, you can look. But you can't touch."

Y3 Week 35: May the Fourth!

“The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.”

--Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars

Note: there wasn't really a school bus on Saturday this week, but "May the Third" is not nearly as fun, so we delayed posting this week's wave until today.

The Finger

Dale has become a CrossFitter. It's a bit of an addiction really. Watching a one-legged guy do a CrossFit WOD (workout of the day) can be pretty impressive. Until he falls. You see, Dale takes his leg off for many of his workouts, which leaves him off-balance. Which leaves him susceptible to falling. And fall he did. He rolled right off the front of the back extension machine... there was no left leg to provide the counter-balance he needed. The good news is that Dale's pretty good at falling. He was able to do a nice little tuck of the head and roll right off of that machine. Where's the video camera when you need it? The only problem was his finger. It was not right at all.

A Classic Dorsal Dislocation
So... not liking shots, Dale had the doctor relocate that finger without any painkillers. This is a 16 second video that's totally worth watching:
